Content
This unit builds on Curriculum, Pedagogy, Assessment and Feedback Practices, providing pre-service teachers with the opportunity to refine and apply their skills in curriculum planning, evidence-based pedagogy, assessment design, and feedback practices. Students will demonstrate competency in selecting and implementing effective teaching and assessment strategies, using curriculum documents to guide instructional decisions, and providing meaningful feedback to support student learning. A focus is placed on interpreting assessment data, modifying instruction accordingly, and engaging in reflective professional practice. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, and a 10-day primary school placement, students will engage in authentic learning experiences that develop their capacity to make informed, data-driven teaching decisions. The unit also emphasizes the role of assessment moderation, student engagement strategies, and professional growth through feedback and reflection. By the completion of the unit, students will be equipped with the practical expertise to design, implement, and evaluate curriculum-aligned teaching and assessment strategies, preparing them for their final year of teacher education and their transition into professional teaching roles.
