Content
Aligned with quality and safety principles, opportunities are provided for students to explore and develop essential midwifery knowledge and skills necessary for the provision of woman-centred care.
Students will develop beginning clinical decision-making skills necessary for the provision of woman-centred, quality, and safe pregnancy care. Essential concepts for midwifery practice such as communication, professional, legal, and ethical standards, physiological changes during pregnancy, and health promotion will be addressed in this unit.
During 40-hour midwifery practice experiences students will have the opportunity to further develop specific mindsets and apply relevant knowledge and skills learnt in this unit.
