Cohort rule:	This unit is only available to students enrolled in H315, H343, H353, H355, D333, D394, D467, E377, M320, S323, and H300, D391 students completing the Exercise Science major sequence (MJ-H000016) or minor sequence (MN-H000016). Study commitment:	Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit. This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.
Scheduled learning activities - campus:	Trimester 2: 1 x 2 hour introductory lecture in week 1 1 x online module per week 2-3 hours 6 x 2 hour seminars in weeks 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 4 x 2 hour practical experience (laboratory) in weeks 3, 5, 7 and 9 1 x 2 hour revision lecture in week 10 1 x 2 hour practical examination (week 11=AT2 Practical Exam-Attempt 1) 1 x 1 hour practical examination (study period = AT2 Practical Exam - Attempt 2, if required)

Specific dates will be communicated early in trimester. In Trimester 3, the two-day on-campus intensive (only for online students) is conducted at the Geelong (Waurn Ponds) and Melbourne (Burwood) campuses in Week 11. Content

This unit is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system and how it relates to normal and abnormal human movement. A detailed analysis of the functional anatomy of the skeletal, articular, neural and muscular systems is explored. Additional areas explored will be the role that the musculoskeletal system plays in static and dynamic posture and movement control.
