| In-person attendance requirements: | Students are required to attend and participate in on-campus practical intensive teaching periods. These periods are 2 to 5 days long and are held at our Burwood (Melbourne) and Waurn Ponds (Geelong) campuses. There is usually a practical intensive in the middle of trimester 1 and at the end of trimester 2. Specific dates and details are announced on course and unit CloudDeakin sites. |

Content
There are many factors that influence the design of an athlete’s training plan. This unit will address the wide range of factors that a coach needs to consider. Topics will include using video apps to coach athletes, sourcing reliable information, nutrition and recovery strategies, understanding the rehabilitation process of an injured athlete, athletic performance testing, athlete management systems, and legal and ethical issues including supplement strategies that work within the ‘Sport Integrity Australia’ guidelines. On completion of this unit, students will be able to implement a range of evidence-based strategies to facilitate athletic performance.
