Content
This unit focuses on the foundational processes of health promotion program planning, from identifying community needs through to developing evidence- informed and contextually relevant program plans. Students will examine contemporary planning models, frameworks, and theories, applying these to current health promotion contexts. Emphasis is placed on understanding, applying and communicating the social model of health, determinants of health, and principles of ethical practice.
Through interactive seminars and authentic assessment tasks, students will build practical skills in needs assessment planning and program design, while developing confidence in communicating their ideas professionally and collaboratively in diverse health promotion settings.
