Content
The unit aims to provide students with an understanding of the range of factors that can both enhance and be a barrier to the occupational performance of individuals. Students will be introduced to the skills and methods of task analysis to identify the physical, cognitive, behavioural, psychosocial, and contextual factors that can influence a person’s ability to perform everyday activities, with a focus on workplace settings. The unit also includes core occupational therapy assessments of upper limb function, including goniometry, manual muscle testing, and sensory assessment.
Through this unit, students will begin to gain an understanding of how everyday activities can be assessed and structured to facilitate the participation of individuals in their chosen and required occupational performance activities.
