Content

This introductory unit explores how accounting information supports real-world decision making for individuals and businesses. You will develop a foundation in double-entry accounting, learning how to record transactions and prepare key financial statements. Building on this, you will learn how to interpret financial information and use it to make informed decisions. The unit also introduces budgeting and planning, extending beyond business contexts to include personal financial management, such as managing income, expenses, savings, and debt.
Throughout the unit, you will apply accounting concepts to practical, real-life scenarios and begin developing the skills to make confident financial decisions. You will also work with industry-relevant digital tools to analyse financial information and support decision-making, building capability that is directly transferable to both your studies and everyday financial life.
