Content
This unit develops students’ capability to plan, perform and report on audit engagements in accordance with International Standards on Auditing and Assurance. Students progress through the full audit cycle, from client acceptance and risk assessment to testing internal controls, undertaking substantive procedures and completing the audit. The unit also examines other assurance engagements, legal liability and the regulatory environment, supporting comprehensive professional preparation.
A central focus of the unit is the development of professional judgement and ethical practice. Students learn to apply auditing standards, ethical and independence requirements and relevant regulations to a range of assurance scenarios. Throughout the unit, they build a clear understanding of the nature and objectives of assurance engagements and the responsibilities of the auditor.
