Content

In our globalising world, it is necessary for students to understand legal systems other than their own. This unit will introduce students to the legal and political environment as well as legal culture and system of a foreign country. The unit equips students with an understanding and appreciation of the differing assumptions that underpin the law in a different jurisdiction, and their impact on transnational legal practice. To facilitate this immersive experience, students meet and visit key actors and institutions, both state and non-state, and experience life in the relevant country. Students will visit an array of law and governance sites which may include but are not limited to courts, law firms, universities, and government departments. Students will gain important experience in transnational learning and social skills while on the study tour.
