Content

The aim of this unit is to provide insight into the development of complex, multi-faceted products. Students will learn how to design, test, and validate a complex dynamic system. The unit covers key topics, including design thinking, engineering design principles, and digital manufacturing technologies. Students will explore basic and advanced design of experiment methodologies, measurement technology and uncertainty analysis, along with test repeatability calculations and product validation methods. The unit covers data analysis across both small and large datasets - ranging from fundamental techniques to advanced methods. The unit also covers the analysis of machine dynamics using kinetic and kinematic concepts.
