Content
Community Science Project is a work integrated learning professional practice unit designed to bridge the gap between study and career. Students will develop highly valued professional skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and project management, while learning how to communicate the value of science to diverse audiences, from industry partners to the broader community. In this unit, students work in a team on an authentic, client-based project, applying scientific knowledge to solve real challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes. Through direct involvement in authentic projects, students will build confidence in their skills, gain insight into their strengths, and identify areas for growth. Students will learn to translate their experiences into clear evidence of their skills. By the end of the unit, students will have developed a professional job application package and the ability to articulate both their scientific expertise and transferable skills, positioning them strongly for future employment or further study in science.

Hurdle requirements
- In order to obtain a pass in the unit, the AT3, signed client evaluation form must be submitted before marks for the team members are released.
- In order to obtain a pass in the unit, a student must achieve a pass mark in AT3, Client and Team evaluation.
