Content

The focus of the placement is on enhancing broad employability skills within a discipline specific knowledge and skills development framework. Students are required to work collegially in discipline relevant organisations and roles to build work ready pre-professional capabilities. Students use their placement for contextually integrated career development learning. In reporting on their experiences, students demonstrate how the placement experience and the preparatory classes provide an applied form of learning: developing the employability skills that prepare them for the next stage of study, for work, and a future career in their chosen fields.

Placements must be completed within a 3-month period. Delays in completing the placement could mean that the course will take longer to complete than the stated duration. Attendance at the placement may be required outside the trimester dates. In addition to the placement, students will complete PPM, attend the 5 x 1-hour sessions, and will spend approximately 30 to 50 hours on related learning and assessment activities for this unit.
