Content
The unit examines contemporary international practice in construction procurement, including procurement methods, pricing options, tendering processes, and standard forms of contract within complex project environments. It integrates principles of construction law and contract administration, focusing on legal frameworks, contractual obligations, and effective project governance. Students will evaluate strategic procurement decisions that support economic, environmental, social, and cultural sustainability. Through case studies, the unit explores relationship contracting, ethical procurement, internationalisation, and supply chain management. Emphasis is placed on the impact of procurement systems, contractual arrangements, and contract administration practices on project delivery in the global construction industry.
