Client partnering

We provide advice and services to Deakin management in the areas of workforce planning, performance management, organisational restructuring and workplace change.

Employment

We provide advice and services relating to all terms and conditions of employment from immigration and contract types, to work patterns and types of leave.

Health, wellbeing and safety

We're responsible for implementing strategy and practices to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all staff. We consult on a range of OHS matters including accident prevention, chemical safety, employee assistance and counselling and emergency planning.

Professional and personal development

We deliver a range of personal and professional development opportunities to build the capability of our staff. We also coordinate a number of university-wide development opportunities including the Mentoring Partnership Program, Vice-Chancellor's Professional Development Awards, leadership programs and employee engagement surveys.

Recruitment

We specialise in all aspects of recruitment and on boarding, including job design and evaluation, advertising, recruitment options, relocation and induction.

When it comes to the appointment of senior staff of the University, we know how to support the University to make the best appointment possible.

We also manage vendor relationships with recruitment agencies, pre-employment assessment providers, job boards and advertising firms.

Remuneration, benefits and payroll

We manage all functions and queries relating to staff remuneration, superannuation, benefits, leave entitlements, employment conditions and payroll.

Workplace relations

We hold primary responsibility for the implementation of Deakin's Enterprise Agreement. We also provide high-level advice and support in the areas of workplace relations, performance management and conflict resolution.
