The Indonesia Council is pleased to announce that the Alfred Deakin Research Institute (ADRI) will host the 2015 Indonesia Council Open Conference (ICOC). The convenor is Dr Jemma Purdey.

The Indonesia Council is an area-based sub-division of the Asian Studies Association of Australia (ASAA) open to all persons with an interest in the study of Indonesia. The Council meets at the ASAA biennial conference to discuss matters of common interest to Indonesianists and runs a conference in alternate years.

Purdey says, "There's more to Australian-Indonesian ties than bombs, boats and beef" in her latest article in The Guardian.

ADRI is currently leading the 'Scholarships and Connections: Australia, Indonesia and PNG' project'. You can even access the project in Indonesian!
