Dr Cassandra Atherton has just published 'In So Many Words: Interviews with Writers, Scholars and Intellectuals' featuring interviews with eleven of the most influential intellectuals, scholars and writers in the United States, including Noam Chomsky, Camille Paglia, Todd Gitlin and Harold Bloom.
Atherton discusses her interviews in a series of personal introductions, lending an intimacy to each piece. In this way, the reader is invited into the office, bar, café or home of the interviewee to listen to the interview unfold.
She is an award-winning writer and critic, and one of Australia’s leading experts on American public intellectuals in academe. She has previously published a novel, The Man Jar; a book of prose poetry, After Lolita and a book of literary criticism, Flashing Eyes andFloating Hair: A Reading of Gwen Harwood’s Pseudonymous Poetry.
Dr Atherton belongs to the Contemporary Histories group at ADRI.
