Content

Students will engage in arts processes and reflect critically and creatively on these, using a range of technologies to extend their knowledge of creative media and techniques in music, drama and visual art. They will demonstrate knowledge of current educational practices in arts education, by developing, implementing and evaluating an integrated arts curriculum package that responds to the developing needs and interests of young people in diverse social and cultural settings.

Assessment

Assessment 1) Arts Resource Portfolio 50%

The portfolio consists of a range of drama, music, visual workshop and computer based activities annotated and underpinned by an arts education theoretical statement. (2000 words or equivalent)

 

Assessment 2) Arts Education Research Report 50%

Develop, implement and evaluate appropriate sequence of arts learning activities or an integrated curriculum with arts as part of an overall program (to be negotiated). The activities should include assessment strategies, which will be implemented in a relevant setting and evaluated in a reflective report. (2000 words or equivalent)

 

HURDLE REQUIREMENTS FOR E744SP STUDENTS ONLY

 

Completion and documentation of 2 days of professional development relating to the Practicum Case Study.

 

Students who fail a hurdle requirement will be ineligible for a Pass Conceded grade for that unit and will receive a result of no more than 44% for that unit, waived under special consideration arrangements.
