When can I start my DUELI course?

We offer nine intakes throughout the year, giving you the flexibility to decide when to start your course. If you are studying at DUELI as a pathway to Deakin University or Deakin College, you can choose an intake to complete your English language studies before your studies begin. Courses commence every five weeks and classes are small to encourage engagement with your tutor and classmates.

Before you arrive: fees, visa and OSHC

Before you begin your English language course in Australia, make sure to pay your fees, apply for a visa and arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

How to pay your fees

You will need to pay your enrolment and orientation, and your tuition fees, when you enrol and before you begin your course. You can choose to pay your fees through Deakin's payment portal or use one of our online international payment providers.

How to apply for a visa

Once we have received payment of your course fees, we will send you a confirmation of enrolment (COE). This will allow you to apply for a student visa to study in Australia. You will then receive a Notification of Arrival form, which must be returned to us at least 10 days before you arrive in Australia.

How to apply for OSHC

If you are coming to Australia on a student visa, you need to arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before your studies begin. Your OSHC ensures you can access healthcare services in Australia, such as hospitals and doctors. OSHC is compulsory for students from most countries.
