Life on campus
No need to worry if you've left your notes at home – living on campus means that home's just around the corner. As well as being convenient, life on campus means you'll also enjoy special events, communal study and recreation areas as well as benefits just for residents.
Whether you want to live by yourself (in one of our studio apartments) or with other people (in our shared apartments or units), you'll always have a private bedroom.

Special events for residents
Deakin Residences O-week
We run all sorts of events for residents – from Resi O Week to sporting matches, formal dinners, trivia nights and study groups.
There are plenty of places to study, enjoy a break, or catch up with friends on campus at Burwood.
Our communal areas have pool tables and table tennis, and spaces to watch movies, Foxtel or play Xbox. We also have quiet spaces when you need to study.
All our residential buildings are close to campus facilities including a medical centre, cafes, restaurants and bars, a YMCA gym and a bank. There are also nearby barbecues, walking paths, a running track and parklands.
Resident fitness program
Not sure how to balance study, work and your health? We can help. We offer a special fitness package for residents, which has been designed to help you maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle while staying at Deakin University.
Food and meals
We care about the wellbeing of all our students, whether you live on campus or nearby. That's why we've made sure good food options are available at all our campuses. Most campuses are also located near grocery stores.
I could be more involved with the university than if I lived off campus. Also the convenience of being a five-minute walk to class is a big bonus!
Respect – our community values
On res, we're proactive and responsive to the needs of individuals and encouraging and tolerant of differences. We aim to nurture a connected, safe, enjoyable and above all respectful community.
