Teaching Interests

Literature and the environment, literature and place, contemporary Australian literature, American literature, African American literature.

I am unit chair of ALL274 (Supernatural Literatures), AAR412 (Honours theory), and ALL784 (Writing and Film) for 2014. I am off-campus coordinator for ALL102 (From Horror to Romance) for 2014.

Literature and politics

Literary and cultural studies approaches to the environment, including cities and architectures;

The politics of place, place-making and belonging;

The efficacy of texts and writing - the question of what literature can do in the world.
