Dr Li has had about 10-year experience on the synthesis, characterization (e.g. chemical, oxidation-resistant, thermal, mechanical, optical, vibrational, dielectric screening and surface adsorption etc) and application (e.g. corrosion protection, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, water treatment etc) of BN nanomaterials, including nanotubes, nanoribbons, and nanosheets. He has made significant and pioneering contributions to the field, reflected by his many “firsts” in research in the world.

Research interests

A wide variety of physical and chemical properties of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, especially boron nitride (BN) nanosheets and graphene. BN nanotubes are also a focus of my research.
