The School welcomes students from many countries around the world. In line with the University's internationalisation strategies, the School has developed an internationalisation plan which recognises the value of addressing worldwide issues through global partnerships in research, teaching and learning, diversity, exchange in staff and student body and international curricula development. This plan includes the offering of compressed study optionsfor students, the establishment of partnerships and exchange agreements with offshore institutions and agencies and fostering international relations with professional and accreditation bodies.
The School has a long association with educating international students. Our staff are very experienced and familiar with the specific needs and the goals that international students possess. We recognise that the time each student spends with us should be both challenging and rewarding. We expect that that each of you will not only take away valuable experiences and friendships as well as new qualifications when you leave, but also have the satisfaction of having contributed something of yourself to us and to have left something of yourself behind. As such, the School is committed to providing every opportunity to international students to maximise their educational experience.
There are currently almost 70 international students enrolled with the School in our architecture, construction management, double degree programs and exchange programs. Since the establishment of Deakin School of Architecture and Building, we have over 450 international student graduates who are now part of the School's alumni. Many of our international graduates are now highly successful practitioners and directors of their own firms.
