Release and refund or refund only

The process is different for Deakin and non-Deakin students. Please read the following information carefully.

Current Deakin students

If you are a current Deakin student and you are applying for a release and refund, you MUST apply for a release first. You can not submit your refund application until you have received a release outcome letter. To apply for a release letter, please read the release guidelines, the information about applying for a release letter and fill in the release application form.

Once you have your release outcome letter, you should apply for your refund directly through Deakin Central. Please see the following information about how to apply for a refund.

Your refund will be processed within 28 days of the date you lodge your application.

DUELI, Deakin College or other non-Deakin University students

If you are a current DUELI, Deakin College or other non-Deakin University student and you wish to apply for a release and refund, you MUST apply for a release first. You can not submit your refund application until you have received a release outcome letter. To apply for a release letter, please read the release guidelines, the information about applying for a release letter and fill in the release application form (246 KB).

Once you have your release outcome letter, you can lodge your application for a refund.

To lodge your application for a refund, fill in the Request for a refund for international students form (PDF, 221.1KB) and email it to int.release.refund@deakin.edu.au.

You must complete all sections of the form and make sure that it is dated and signed.

Your refund will be processed within 28 days of the date you lodge your application.
