Meet the Faculty of Arts and Education Dean
Professor Simon Tormey was appointed Executive Dean of Arts and Education in 2023, coming from the position of Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Bristol. Previously he was Head of the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney.
An internationally renowned academic in political sociology, organisational studies, social theory and the history of ideas, he is the author or co-author of seven books and over 60 scholarly articles, with work translated into nine languages.
Our mission is to create positive impact to benefit individuals and communities, organisations and industries locally and globally. Our scholars are passionate about teaching and research, and partner on projects that advance society, culture and the economy while enabling a sustainable world and improving health and wellbeing.
