  • Paid as cash or towards student contributions - tuition fees.
    • Up to $5000 per year ($625 per credit point) for bachelor and honours.
    • Up to $10,000 per year ($1250 per credit point) for postgraduate by coursework.

Duration

  • Awarded for the normal full-time duration of the course. 

Am I eligible?

Ensure you meet all criteria before submitting an application. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be:

  • a domestic student
  • commencing or currently enrolled at Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 2, 2026
  • studying a bachelor or honours degree in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP), enrolled full time unless there are individual circumstances preventing this
     

OR

  • studying a postgraduate by coursework degree, enrolled in at least two credit points per trimester.


You must be able to demonstrate one of the following:

  • an ATAR of at least 85
  • a Weighted Average Mark (WAM)/Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 80 in previous tertiary study
  • leadership experience
  • elite sports performance
  • community service or volunteer activities
  • excellence in the arts
  • any other exceptional achievement.

Selection criteria

Consideration will be given to students experiencing financial or personal hardship. 

Deakin alumni discount

If you are successful in receiving an offer for this scholarship and you are eligible for the Deakin alumni discount, you can only hold one. You will be asked to nominate which arrangement you would like to hold. If you do not make a nomination, the Deakin alumni discount will automatically be withdrawn. 

Maintaining this scholarship

Continued eligibility is subject to maintaining a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65.

Numbers of this scholarship are limited; not all eligible applicants will receive one. If you're successful, you'll be notified via email; usually within four weeks of the application closing date. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.

Supporting documents

As part of the application process you will also be required to upload supporting documentation by the closing date listed above. These should be current, relevant and concise.

The documents required for this scholarship include:

  • evidence of your previous WAM or GPA (if completed at another institution)
  • evidence of any leadership activities or community service achievements
  • evidence of any sporting or other achievements.

Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents – it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded as the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember, it's quality, not quantity, you need to provide.
