Professor Mehmet Ulubasoglu is head of the Department of Economics at Deakin Business School. Mehmet has taught several courses in the undergraduate, PhD and executive MBA programs at Deakin, including business and financial forecasting, applied econometrics for economics and finance, and analytical tools in economics and finance.
Dr David Akman has more than two decades of research, teaching, consulting and professional work experience in data science and analytics, particularly in forecasting, machine learning, and mathematical modelling and optimisation.
Hemant Pullabhotla is a lecturer of economics in the Department of Economics, Deakin Business School.
Shuddha Rafiq is a senior lecturer of economics in the Department of Economics, Deakin Business School.

How you'll learn
Go at your own pace with support from your educator and fellow learners during online learning activities and discussions. Complete your course within 6 weeks, including the assessment, or take extra time and use the regular assessment submission windows to complete within 24 weeks of your enrolment.
What you’ll learn
During the short course you’ll:
- learn the foundations and applications of forecasting in business
- identify when forecasting is suitable for your business problem
- explore different forecasting methods and models
- discuss and evaluate the outputs of models.
How you're assessed
You’ll need to submit a 2000-word business report with forecasting analysis using BigML.
