Content
This unit focuses on the increasingly significant role being played by vocational learning in schools that offers an important pathway for students to support their future educational and career pursuits and meet the rising demand for individuals with industry specialised skills in a rapidly changing labour markets.
This unit examines the learning environments, pedagogical approaches, curriculum and support systems used in Vocational Education & Training Delivered to Secondary School Students (VDSS). It will draw on student’s existing experience in vocational education, to contextualise factors that impact on the learning needs of VDSS students and vocational learning in schools more broadly.
Students will be learning about principles of lesson planning and authentic applied learning and work-related pedagogies to apply these to create authentic and inclusive learning experiences for learners.
