Biography
I enjoy connecting with students and propelling their IT learning forward. My teaching style promotes interactive learning, to engage students and to challenge themselves. I've been passionate about IT since I was young, from creating websites and video games, building my own home servers, to learning programming languages. My career goal is for my research to have real-world impact, primarily in the field of medical diagnostics and monitoring.

Projects
BirdMark (www.birdmark.net) - Co-lead of multi-national collaboration between Deakin University, BirdLife Australia, Australian Wader Studies Group (AWSG), and the Victorian Wader Studies Group (VWSG), and stakeholders from the East Asian Australasian Flyway (EAAF). Houses 250,000 observations of migratory shorebirds since the 1980s, streamlining the ability for shorebird research to be conducted for conservation efforts.
VWSG Field Guide - Supported by a $11,000 grant from the SummerTech LIVE program (sponsored by the Victorian Government) developed with School of IT students a smartphone app for zoology efforts of ducks and migratory shorebirds. Used by convervationists and researchers around the world.
A to Z Safari (https://atozsafari.com) - Collaboration between the School of IT and the School of Education. A research-backed early childhood literacy app on the iPad. Developed by student groups from the School of IT as part of their final year project.
TRACIE - An asset management system used by Deakin University to manage the inventory, ordering, and auditing of assets; chemicals, equipment, computers.
