You can meet with a Language and Learning Adviser to discuss ways of improving your approaches to university learning. These consultations are free.

Please note that consultations are teaching and learning sessions. Although we can help you to develop your own editing skills, Language and Learning Advisers do not offer a proof-reading or editing service.

Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus

The Study Skills team is located in the Library, just inside the entrance near the Library service desk.

Drop-in and see a Language and Learning Adviser for a short consultation:

• 11 am-1 pm Monday-Friday. No appointment needed.

Longer consultations are also available; make an appointment in person at the Library service desk or by phoning Student Life reception on 03 5227 1221.

Appointments are also available after 5 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Geelong Waterfront Campus

The Study Skills team is located in the Library.

Drop-in and see a Language and Learning Adviser for a short consultation (no appointment needed):

• 11 am-12 noon Monday-Friday 
• 2-3 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Longer consultations are also available; make an appointment in person at the Library service desk or by phoning Student Services on 03 5227 8400.

Melbourne Burwood Campus

The Study Skills team is located in The Learning Space, Building H, level 1.

Speak with Students Helping Students (SHS) mentors and Language and Learning Advisers at drop-in:

• Tuesday: 12 noon-4 pm AND 5-6 pm
• Wednesday: 12 noon-4 pm pm AND 5-6 pm

If you live in the Dandenong area, you may like to call in to the Deakin Learning Hub and speak with a Language and Learning Adviser there: Level 3, 237 Princes Highway (or 237 Lonsdale Street), Dandenong.

Warrnambool Campus

Off-campus students

• Meet with a Language and Learning Adviser in person at any campus.

• Make an appointment for a consultation via telephone, email or eLive by phoning 03 9246 8250 (International +61 3 9246 8250). Once this is done, a Language and Learning Adviser will then contact you at the designated time.

If you are new to eLive, the eLive setup guidelines will assist you with getting started. If you are having difficulties contact the IT Service Desk which provides eLive support for both staff and students. Telephone +61 1800 721 720.
