Second series of seminars and workshops
As a result of feedback from students here are the details of two seminars
on ‘The Writing Process’ that will be held at the Warrnambool
campus on Wednesday 23 July, Room J. 2.20. An overview with an international
focus will be discussed in the first session. The session following this will
discuss strategies and skills of the first stage of incorporating the literature
into the writing process. The second and third stage will be held at a later
date.

This session discusses reasons as to why we
should reference our academic work; the
major types of referencing; issues of plagiarism
and techniques in sourcing material
and how to use them.

What is a literature review?

All HDR students are required to conduct a substantial review of literature
to inform their research study. This seminar discusses the reasons for
this requirement and discusses various strategies for incorporating this
into your thesis.
