Welcome to our online program of ‘Conceptualising a Research Question’. This program has been devised to help you start off your research journey. There are several unique features built into its delivery.
The first is that all the faculties are represented in three ways. These are through Associate Deans Research, senior academics and higher degree by research candidates.
Another is that this program comes to you in the form of an online interactive media object player where it invites learners to engage with their learning by making choices about what their needs are and seeking explanations for these. As such, it has an enquiry based approach involving investigation and exploration.
The player enables you to interact with a wide range of participants and get their perceptions. It comprises a set of 10 questions that are ordered in a sequential manner. This means that you have to start with question one; have that question completed by one of the participants before you can move to the next one. The answers are expressed verbally in an edited version. However both the long and short version is then presented as transcripts which you can view as a word document.
A further unique feature is that the responses that you access from the participants are produced as a word document which you can then print off or email to yourself.
It is for you to decide if the answers you have chosen are appropriate for your research journey and meets the needs of your faculty or whether you need to go back and review the answers you accessed. So, another unique feature of this program is that in using this player, you are in control of your choices and the answers you want.
There is also a ‘Help’ section that you can access anytime if you are unclear.
