Your library. Your space.

From the introduction of next-generation learning spaces to a library application specifically for mobile phones, Deakin University Library is continually developing new and improved ways to support students and staff in their teaching, learning and research activities. Watch the Your Library, Your Space video to see how the Library can help you.

‘Flexibility’ and ‘choice’ are paramount in the Library’s aim to connect people, technology and information. Through its innovation strategies the Library seeks to achieve a continuum of physical and virtual facilities and services, delivering information in a variety of formats and channels: printed and digital; face-to-face and online.

Libraries are progressively being redeveloped to ensure modern and attractive learning spaces are available to provide students with a great choice of study options.

Each library is open throughout the year where you can study individually or in groups, meet friends, borrow books, use Library computers or bring in your own laptop and connect to the wireless network.

There are over 1.5 million books, journals, newspapers, videos, CDs and DVDs across the campus libraries. Electronic journals and books can be accessed through the Library website and you can search for information at any time on campus, or from home or work.

Special Collections are accessible through the Alfred Deakin Prime Ministerial Library.

Face-to-face workshops help you locate materials for assignments and research. Library staff are available to assist you when you visit the Library, in person, by phone, via email or through the web. Our Research Librarians are available to assist with your research activities, providing individual and group support that is tailored to your needs.

A library application for mobile phones has also been introduced, providing you with ‘go anywhere’ accessibility to Library resources. Simply point your browser to http://m.library.deakin.edu.au, to search for books, view e-readings, connect to databases and access other electronic resources, from the palm of your hand.

The Library seeks to build a range of high-quality services that are innovative and relevant, and customised for your teaching, learning and research needs. We are always keen to hear how you are making your library 'your space'.
