Research interests

Dr Teychenne’s research is primarily focussed on investigating the associations between physical activity, sedentary behaviours and depression in women. Further, Dr Teychenne has an interest in the intra-personal, social and physical-environmental influences on women’s physical activity and sedentary behaviour. In addition, Dr Teychenne is particularly interested in the development of strategies to promote physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviours amongst ‘high-risk’ groups, including women at risk of depression (such as pregnant and postpartum women) as well as those living in socioeconomically disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
