A global education on a local scale
Set on the banks of the Hopkins River, three hours from Melbourne, our Warrnambool Campus is arguably the most scenic. Home to a close-knit community of ambitious students and staff, it’s a campus with spirit and heart.
Part of a thriving and inclusive regional community, the average class size here is smaller than our other campuses, and most other universities, meaning you'll benefit from a more personal approach to your studies.
Whether you're studying environmental science and marine biology, commerce, nursing or education – immerse yourself in Warrnambool's inspiring surroundings and explore where your studies could take you.
Deakin Warrnambool may be regional but it’s certainly radical when it comes to cutting-edge facilities and research. The globally recognised research carried out at this campus supports the very environment it sits in, and beyond.
Take a virtual tour
Holding a prime position along the spectacular Great Ocean Road, our Warrnambool Campus may be rural but it’s certainly radical when it comes to cutting-edge facilities and research. Take a virtual tour of our campus.

The Warrnambool Campus has its own train station – Sherwood Park – which is just over 150 metres from campus. Rail services run from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Portland, Port Fairy, Ballarat and Hamilton daily. These services connect with public transport to other regional and interstate centres.
Coach services also run from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Portland, Port Fairy, Ballarat and Hamilton daily, and connect with public transport to other regional and interstate centres.
From central Warrnambool, you can catch the Route 3 Koroit Street Interchange bus to Deakin via Gateway Plaza – it takes around 20 minutes.
It's approximately a three-hour drive from Melbourne's CBD, depending on traffic. Free parking is available on campus in the white general bays.
The most direct route to campus is via the main highway, so we recommend you exercise caution. To avoid the highway you can use the adjacent two-way service road, as well as the footpath along the Homemaker Centre. There are showers and change rooms, bike racks and lockers on campus.
We provide a free carpool matching service for students and staff. If you're giving someone a lift to campus, you can also use the carpooling car park.
While you're on campus
Explore your campus the old-school way. Print it out or download a copy to your phone. Either way, you'll have a handy campus guide at your fingertips.
Deakin Scout is our smart, personalised navigation and wayfinding app. It calculates the fastest route (important for that first coffee) and gives step-by-step directions to anywhere on campus – even inside buildings.
Most of our buildings are wheelchair-accessible and have lifts, accessible toilets and automatic doors. We're continuously working to improve the accessibility of all campus facilities.
