Industry and community partnerships

Working together to achieve more

The Faculty of Health has many successful partnerships across government departments, hospitals, sporting organisations, research institutes, businesses and community groups.

Why partner with us

Our partners are integral to the education we provide – enabling students to complete placements while informing our curriculum through industry insights. Some of our partners sit on our course advisory boards and offer guest lecturing, giving students direct access to the latest industry knowledge.

Research partnerships

Our partners push our research in innovative directions. As well as helping us launch research centres, partners often engage with us on high-profile projects or consultancy work. For a commercial fee, businesses can use our expertise for training, developing new materials and data analysis.

Health service partnerships

We partner with several major healthcare organisations in metropolitan, regional and rural settings. One of our key partnerships is with Barwon Health.

International partnerships

We have global collaborations in health systems research, eHealth, exercise and sport science, mental health, public health and health innovation. Our partners span the Public Health Foundation of India, to the University of Southern Denmark.

How we’re closing the gap together

One of our top priorities at the Faculty of Health is closing the gap in life expectancy and disadvantage between Aboriginal and Torres Strait populations and the rest of Australia. Through an internal partnership with Deakin's NIKERI Institute, our Indigenous Entry Stream provides a specialised pathway for Indigenous students to become healthcare practitioners.
