Once you've decided what you want to study, check the entry requirements on the course page. Requirements vary by course and may include previous qualifications, work experience or additional criteria, such as a personal statement or interview.
If you don't meet the requirements for your chosen course, explore Deakin's entry pathways to consider the other options that may be available to you.
Depending on your course, you could start in March (Trimester 1), July (Trimester 2) or November (Trimester 3). Check the course page for available intakes, application closing dates and key study periods.
You'll need to provide supporting documents with your application. Depending on your course, these may include proof of citizenship, academic transcripts, evidence of professional experience, a personal statement, portfolio or resume. Check the entry requirements tab on the course page for exactly what you'll need to provide.
The simplest way to apply is through our online application portal. Create an account in the Deakin Application Portal, enter your personal and education details, upload your supporting documents, then review and submit your application.

What happens next?
Once you've submitted your application, we'll email you a receipt number. Depending on the course, you may be contacted for additional documentation or information. Usually, notification of your application outcome will be emailed to you within 10 working days, though some applications may take longer to assess. If you're successful, you'll receive a Letter of Offer with instructions on how to accept your offer and enrol.

Deakin alumni discount
If you’re a Deakin alumni commencing a masters, graduate diploma or graduate certificate, you may be eligible to receive a 10% reduction per unit on enrolment fees.

Scholarship for excellence

Passionate about study but experiencing personal or financial hardship? You could receive up to $10,000 per year in study support.
