This deferral form is for domestic students only and should be submitted within 5 days of receiving your offer. International students - find out more about deferring your offer.
Deakin allows deferral of most courses for up to one year. As some courses do not have intakes every study period, you may be limited in which trimester you can commence your studies.
Deferral is not available where you:
- have received an offer for a postgraduate Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).
- received an offer for one of the following courses: H911 Doctor of Medicine, H744 Master of Professional Psychology, H750 Master of Psychology (Clinical), H752 Master of Psychology (Organisational), H766 Master of Occupational Therapy Practice, H951 Doctor of Psychology (Clinical), A026 Deakin Uni Ready
- have been re-admitted to a course
- are already enrolled. If you have already enrolled in your course, you will need to Intermit your course instead. Do not submit this form if you have already enrolled in your course.
- are a cross-institutional student
- are studying a non-award unit(s)
Confirmation of your deferral is usually sent within 7-10 business days. If you haven’t received confirmation after 10 business days, please contact our Admissions team by email.
