Types of courses

If you are undertaking your first degree in a particular subject, you are known as an undergraduate student.

Bachelor degree

A bachelor degree is the minimum requirement for many careers and a prerequisite for masters. They take between three to four years full time to complete.

Bachelor degree (honours)

Honours is an additional year of specialised study, undertaken after you complete a bachelor degree – or as part of a bachelor degree.

Associate degree

An associate degree in Arts or Education, two years full time or part-time equivalent, is a guaranteed pathway into selected bachelor degrees at Deakin.
