The tiny house way to benefit the environment

The tiny house phenomenon was the big topic at this year's Deakin Enviro Seminar.

Over 350 people registered for the seminar at Deakin University’s Melbourne Burwood Campus to hear Darren Hughes, founder of Tiny Houses Australia, give an insight into the tiny house movement and the potential benefits for the environment.

The event was organised by Dr Kelly Miller, environmental social scientist and senior lecturer in Deakin’s School of Life and Environmental Sciences.

‘Our annual Enviro Seminar is a public event which gives guests an opportunity to meet influential and inspiring people working in the environmental field,’ Dr Miller explains.  Previous seminar speakers include Peter Garrett and author and environmentalist Anna Rose.

‘At Deakin we’re proud of our place in encouraging community education, exploration and debate on important environmental issues,’ Dr Miller says.
