Biography summary

Marzieh is responsible for developing and supporting Library services and expertise related to reporting on scholarly outputs, research impact, and bibliometrics. She collaborates closely with colleagues to enhance proficiency across the Library in bibliometrics reporting, encompassing the analysis and tracking of research impact. As a member of the Scholarly Communications and Research Outputs team, she plays an important role in the Library's participation in strategic University research initiatives and projects, including national assessments and Engagement and Impact endeavours. Marzieh also handles more complex reports and queries when necessary, and she is readily available to address inquiries concerning bibliometrics, research impact, and engagement.

With a solid academic foundation in solid-state physics, a decade of teaching experience in high schools and universities, and a deep love for mathematics, coding, and problem-solving, she furthered her expertise by earning a Ph.D. in applied physics/engineering with IISRI. Her journey in the library profession began in 2013 when she joined Deakin University's library as a Research Support Officer, eventually progressing to roles as a SEBE Liaison Librarian and a Research Librarian. Her librarianship qualification is the Master of Information Studies (Data Management specialisation) from CSU. These diverse experiences have uniquely positioned her to bridge the worlds of academia and library services, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and fostering a deep understanding of scholarly research and information needs.

Marzieh lives on Wurundjeri Country. She pays her respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians, Elders, and Ancestors of the land. She expresses her gratitude for their care of Country, which continues to sustain us, as it has done for millennia.
