My PhD Thesis titled 'Negotiating Differences: Students thinking geographically through Differences of Opinion' is currently being examined. My PhD investigated the role of differences of opinion within groups on students' engagement in creative, critical thinking within the discipline of Geography.
In my post-doctoral research, I continue my research into effective pedagogies within Humanities classrooms. Other areas of interest include; the transfer of knowledge and skills from pre-service teaching course to the classroom for graduate teachers and the experiences of pre-service teachers learning online.
My teaching interests are centred on creating and delivering effective learning experiences and assessments for students. I am passionate about developing pre-service teacher's skills in translating requirements of curriculum documents into meaningful, enjoyable learning experiences for their own students.
