Alfred Deakin Birthday Giveaway 2017 Facebook Competition

The promoter of this competition is Deakin University ABN 56 721 584 203 of 1 Gheringhap Street, Geelong VIC 3220.

  1. Information on how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and entries must comply with these Terms and Conditions to be valid.
  2. This competition is governed by the laws in force in the State of Victoria.

The competition

3. To celebrate Alfred Deakin’s birthday, we are running a tag a friend competition with the chance to win 1 of only 10 grey Deakin hoodies we’re giving away.

Competition period

4. The competition opens at 10am Thursday 3 August and will run until midnight Sunday 6 August.

Prizes

5. Five lucky winners and their friend will be chosen at random and will receive one free grey Deakin hoodie each.

How to enter

  1. STEP 1 – Find the competition post on Deakin University’s official Facebook page.
  2. STEP 2 – Tag the friend who’s made your time at Deakin a memorable one.
  3. STEP 3 – Hope for you and your friend to be randomly selected!
  4. Any comments or entries submitted that are considered offensive by Deakin staff will be deemed invalid and ineligible for a prize.

Selection and notification of winner

5. The winners will be chosen randomly by Deakin University in the Facebook comments section of the post. They will be notified in the comments thread.

6. If the winner does not respond to claim the prize within 7 days of contact from Deakin University, the winner forfeits the prize and the next best entry will be chosen. This process may continue until the prize is awarded.

7. Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. Deakin’s decision is final and binding – no correspondence will be entered into. Deakin accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. Entries will be deemed void if forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way.

8. Winners consent to their name and photograph being published on the Deakin University social media channels if requested to, in any and all form as determined by the Deakin Social Media Hub.

Personal Information provided to Deakin University by entrants will be used to notify the winner of the competition.  A photograph of the winner may be published on Deakin University’s social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Deakin University complies with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) in its treatment of personal information. Entrants have a right to access their personal information held by the University. Requests for access to personal information are managed under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic).
