Off-campus study (or distance education) is fast becoming the preferred way to combine study with work or family commitments. Each year over 10 000 students choose to study off campus at Deakin.
What is off-campus study?
Off-campus study at Deakin - when you study off-campus you take exactly the same course as on-campus students. Instead of attending on-campus classes, you receive comprehensive study materials.
Resources and support for off-campus students
Off-campus students are supported through our award-winning library services, interactive study methods and student support services.
Off-campus education orientation - access our online orientation resources for helpful information and resources.
Study Skills workshops: online sessions are held throughout the year and help you develop key study skills such as getting organised, writing essays and preparing for exams.
Study Skills consultations are available for off-campus students by appointment, helping you to improve your approach to university. Consultations can be done on the phone, via eLive or on Skype.
Career consultations can be booked with a dedicated Careers Counsellor for off-campus students. These can be held by phone or via Skype. The Careers page for off-campus students also has a range of helpful tools to plan your career or assist with finding work.
Deakin's services and facilities are available to off-campus students. Students outside of Victoria or Australia can access many of our services remotely.
