What is Deakin Uni Ready?
If university feels out of reach right now, Deakin Uni Ready can help change that. It's a free, supported program designed to build your skills and confidence for university, and open doors to a range of degrees in arts, health, science and business.

How Deakin Uni Ready works
You'll complete four core units that build the academic skills you need for university, including critical thinking, writing and communication. You'll also choose one elective unit aligned to your area of interest, whether that's health, science, maths or arts. No textbooks. No exams.
How does it fit into my life?
Deakin Uni Ready is a part-time university pathway program delivered fully online in six-week learning blocks across a minimum of two trimesters. That means you can study from anywhere, including regional and remote areas.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Deakin Uni Ready is completely free for eligible domestic students, with no application fees, no textbook costs and no hidden charges.
When can I start?
July and November intakes are available online.
Are you eligible?
No ATAR. No prerequisites. No problem. Deakin Uni Ready is designed for people ready to study but who don't yet meet standard entry requirements.
To apply, you need to:
- have completed Year 10 (or equivalent), and a minimum of two years' work experience; or have completed unscored VCE
- be 17 years or older
- not currently hold, and not be eligible for, an undergraduate university offer
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent Australian resident.
