Approximately 406 million people speak Spanish, making it second only to Mandarin Chinese in terms of its number of native speakers worldwide. Deakin's Spanish studies will help you develop communication skills in this important language, as well as a thorough understanding of the history and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. In-country language programs are also available to students undertaking a major sequence in Spanish.

Through our exchange and in-country study programs, students get to travel and learn, as well as live abroad and acquire a taste for a new culture.
