Olympism at a Crossroad: Managing doping, match fixing & corruption in sport

Event details

Olympism finds itself at a critical juncture. The integrity of athletic competition, a cornerstone of the Olympic movement, faces unprecedented challenges that threaten to undermine the very essence of fair play and sportsmanship. Managing these issues requires a concerted effort from all stakeholders involved, including athletes, sports organisations, policymakers, and the broader public.

The proposed “Enhanced Games” looms as one of the strongest challenges to global sports position on anti-doping and the health and well-being of athletes. Match-fixing scandals have shaken the foundations of sportsmanship, eroding the trust of fans and stakeholders alike.

Join Deakin Sport, the Centre for Sport Research and the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition for a free public seminar as we address these issues head-on and chart a course towards a more equitable, transparent, and sustainable future for sport.

Networking drinks and canapes from 6pm - 6.45pm
