This unit is only available to students enrolled in H343, H355, D333, D394, E377, M320, H300, H315, D391 students completing the Exercise Science major sequence (MJ-H000016) or minor sequence (MN-H000016).

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
Trimester 2: 1 x 2 hour introductory class (week 1)1 x online module per week (2-3 hours) 5 x 2 hour seminars (fortnightly) 5 x 2 hour practicals (fortnightly including practical examination in week 11) 1 x 2 hour revision class (week 10)

In Trimester 2, the 2 day on campus intensive for Cloud students is usually conducted on the Saturday and Sunday of week 11 on the Burwood (Melbourne) campus.
In Trimester 3, the 2 day on campus intensive is usually conducted twice on the Burwood (Melbourne) campus; with one intensive schedule on the Thursday and Friday of week 11, and the other intensive scheduled on the Saturday and Sunday of week 11. The 2 day on campus intensive is also conducted at the Geelong (Waurn Ponds) campus, on the Saturday and Sunday of week 11
This unit is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system and how it relates to normal and abnormal human movement. A detailed analysis of the functional anatomy of the skeletal, articular, neural and muscular systems is explored. Additional areas explored will be the role that the musculoskeletal system plays in static and dynamic posture and movement control.
