Deakin Open Day 2026 takes place across four campuses in August. Warrnambool is first on Sunday 2 August from 9am to 12.30pm. Geelong Waurn Ponds and Geelong Waterfront are both on Sunday 16 August from 9am to 3pm. Melbourne Burwood wraps up the season on Sunday 23 August from 9am to 3pm.

Start by planning ahead and use the online planner to save sessions, tours and demonstrations that interest you most. Kick off your day at the course and career information booths or join a student-led campus tour to get a real feel for the campus. Chat with staff and current students along the way. They're here to help and share their experiences. Use the Google Maps feature in your planner to navigate between sessions and stay on schedule. Whether you know exactly what you want to study or you're just starting to explore, Open Day is your chance to get all the information you need to choose Deakin.

Absolutely. Our course and career information booths are staffed throughout the day by academic and expert staff and current students who are ready to chat about the courses and career paths that interest you most. Just drop in any time.

You don't have to register but it's the best way to stay in the loop. Register now and you'll receive updates on activities, sessions and tips to help you make the most of your day. Browse the day’s schedule and add events you want to attend. You can save up to 6 sessions in each time slot and up to 12 all-day sessions to your planner. But remember, you can’t be in two places at once! Most information sessions run multiple times throughout the day, and most tours depart every 30
minutes, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to fit everything in.

Your plan saves automatically on the device you’re using. Just make sure when that pesky ‘cookies’ notification comes up in your browser, you accept all cookies. And don’t clear your cookies between now and Open Day.

That’s where the cookies come in. Use the Email my plan function to send yourself a link that you can open on your mobile. To ensure you always have the most current version, email it to yourself again whenever you make changes and want to view them on another device.

Ask us anything! Curious about which course will set you on your ideal career path? Wondering what units you'll study or how assessments work? Interested in entry requirements, double degrees or industry experience? Staff and current students are there to support you every step of the way and no question is too big or too small.

Yes. International student advisers will be available to answer your questions and help you explore your options. Chat one-on-one about courses, entry requirements, English language support, fees, scholarships and life in Australia. If you’re not sure where to start, visit the course and career information booths or ask any staff member to point you in the right direction.

Absolutely. Parents, caregivers, siblings and friends all play an important role in choosing the right university. We encourage you to bring them along to explore the campus, join sessions and discover what makes Deakin a great place to study.

We’ve added Google Maps to the planner to make getting around easy. Tap the link in any session details for directions or use Google Street View to check what a building looks like before you arrive. When you get to campus, pick up a map to help you find your way around. You’ll also find friendly staff and volunteers across campus ready to point you in the right direction.

Yes. Most buildings are wheelchair accessible and include lifts, accessible toilets and automatic doors. All campuses offer accessible parking. If you need extra support on the day, just ask any staff member at a help point.

Yes. We offer a range of sensory-friendly supports to help make your visit more comfortable. Our Open Day visual story is a helpful way to plan your day, with a step-by-step guide to what you can expect on campus. An accessible version of the campus map is also available online and supports screen reader use to help you plan your visit.

Quiet Reset Rooms are available in each campus library and provide low-sensory spaces to rest and recharge if you feel overwhelmed.

The Disability Resource Centre (DRC) is open from 10am–3pm at Burwood, Geelong Waterfront and Geelong Waurn Ponds, offering a quieter environment where you can chat with staff about accessibility, support and adjustments at Deakin.

We also support the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, which helps visitors discreetly signal they may need extra assistance from trained staff and students.

Each campus offers a distinct experience. Waterfront is a collection of striking heritage architecture overlooking Corio Bay and is home to courses in health, nursing and the built environment. At Waurn Ponds, a spacious parkland setting surrounds our world-class engineering, science, medicine and elite sports facilities.

Students often travel between campuses for classes or to make use of shared spaces. Open Day is the perfect chance for you to experience both! Plus, with a free shuttle bus running between campuses, it's easy to visit both in one day.

Set in a park-like environment on the outskirts of Geelong, Waurn Ponds is accessible by car, public transport or bicycle. You can find all travel and parking information on the Geelong Waurn Ponds campus page. If you're also visiting Waterfront on the day, a free shuttle bus connects both campuses.

If you missed a session or want to know more about anything Deakin-related, our friendly Future Students team is ready to help. They can chat one-on-one about study options, support services, application processes, pathways and more. Call 1800 693 888 or enquire online at any time.
