Vietnam Scholarship
Available from Trimester 1, 2025 | Closes Trimester 3, 2027
Recognising Vietnamese students with strong academic performance and the potential to make a leading contribution to Deakin and the communities we serve.
Value and duration
- 20% of your total tuition fee (stated on your offer letter).
- This scholarship is available for the normal duration of your course.
- Additional fees may apply. The scholarship will not cover study beyond the standard course duration, including extra or repeated units.
Am I eligible?
To be eligible you must:
- be a citizen of Vietnam residing in Vietnam
- be a new student commencing your course up until Trimester 3, 2027
- meet the entry requirements for your course, including English language requirements
- meet the academic requirement for your level of study (see conditions of eligibility)
- have not accepted any other Deakin scholarship or bursary
- apply for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. Most Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) and Faculty of Health courses are excluded, except for the following health courses:
- Bachelor of Nutrition Science
- Bachelor of Nutrition Science/Bachelor of Commerce
- Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science
- Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Nutrition Science
- Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Business (Sport Management)
- Bachelor of Psychological Science
- Bachelor of Health Sciences
- Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion
- Master of Advanced Nursing.
Conditions of eligibility
To be eligible for undergraduate entry, you must meet one of the following:
- have studied the equivalent of at least one trimester at a Vietnamese university and achieved a WAM of 65% or higher, or
- have completed high school in Vietnam (local or international) with either:
- a GPA of 8.0 or higher
- ATAR at least 5 points above the lowest selection rank from a previous year
- International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 27 or higher (33 for Law or Optometry)
- UK A Levels result 2 points above the standard entry score.
To be eligible for postgraduate entry, you must have:
- completed a bachelor degree or at least one trimester at a postgraduate level at any Vietnamese university and achieved a WAM of 65% or higher.
This scholarship is not available for honours, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, masters by research or PhD programs.
How to apply
