Nanofibres have large specific surface areas and their applications cover a wide range of areas, including filtration, tissue engineering, energy generation and storage, reinforcement, and sensors. Researchers at Deakin have developed novel technologies in making side-by-side nanofibres and large scale production of nanofibres. We are also working on carbon nanofibres and PVDF nanofibres for energy related applications, as well as green nanomaterials from natural fibres.
